This historic block, located in downtown Denver’s LoDo neighborhood, was once home to Windsor Dairy and is now a vibrant micro-district that boasts 11 shops, 19 restaurants, 8 bars, a luxury co-working space, and a 172-room hotel. A stomping ground for tastemakers, fun seekers and seasoned regulars, Dairy Block is your Denver destination found. 1916
A Historical Block

The Dairy Block is nestled between two historic buildings and takes its name to honor the historic Windsor Dairy Building on the corner of 19th and Blake. Designed by architects Fisher and Fisher in 1916, the Windsor Dairy showcases early 20th-century commercial architecture.

1920:
A Humble Beginning

Dairy Block was once home to Windsor Dairy—a company brought to prominence by H. Brown Cannon. Mr. Cannon was born in Michigan in 1868 and moved to Colorado in 1888. He went straight to work in the dairy industry, eventually acquiring Windsor Dairy. The Dairy Block site was cemented as a state-of-the-art home for Windsor Dairy in a landmark real estate deal inked in 1920.

About Windsor Dairy

Windsor Dairy was known for unparalleled levels of quality, freshness and purity—sought after by Denver’s most prestigious families. With the enormous success of the dairy, H. Brown Cannon went on to have important leadership roles and influence throughout the city of Denver, serving as a county commissioner under former Mayor Speer and as the first state dairy inspector under appointment by Governor Alva Adams.

Dairy Block is a unique micro-district in the heart of Denver’s historic LoDo neighborhood that continues the tradition of quality and craftsmanship originally established by H. Brown Cannon. Today visitors to Dairy Block will encounter countless opportunities to find the unexpected.

And the Story Continues...

The project opened in the spring of 2017 and features 250,000 square feet of office space, 60,000 square feet of retail, and 394 below ground parking spaces. Conjoined with the adjacent steel office building at the lobby level, the design of the hotel complements the industrial history of the lower downtown neighborhood while introducing a refreshed and refined aesthetic.
