The Denver Boom

Consider us the Mavens of Denver...

There are few places in the country that are as hot as Denver is right now. With new building developments around every corner, a booming restaurant culture, and close proximity to the mountains, Denver is the place to be. Not to mention the live music scene in the Mile High City is better than ever before. Whether you’ve booked a trip to Denver or are scouting potential destinations for your next vacation, we’ve summarized the latest and greatest so that you don’t have to do the digging yourself. Let’s start with the music scene. Read on:

Music Scene:

Not only has Denver attracted thousands of people to the city, but it’s also gained the attention of some of the world’s best musicians. With the incredible star-studded lineup at Red Rocks, the anticipated headliners at Coors Field, and the opening of music venue Mission Ballroom, there are concerts for every fan out there.

This August, AEG Presents will open the highly anticipated, Mission Ballroom — a 60,000 square-foot concert hall located close to The Maven in the RiNo neighborhood. With its impressive inaugural lineup and innovative advanced technology, this venue will change the way fans experience concerts. Not only will Mission Ballroom have a "million-dollar sound system" and exceptional lighting capabilities, but it’ll also have "flexible stage technology," allowing AEG to alter the capacity of the room from 2,200 to 3,950 people. The Lumineers will be the first group to grace the stage on August 7 followed by a star-studded lineup consisting of acts like Maggie Rogers, FKJ, and Brandi Carlile. To read more about Mission Ballroom or purchase concert tickets to an upcoming show, visit their website.

And if you’re looking for a bigger venue to catch a show, head across the street to Coors Field for their concerts in early August! Billy Joel will be performing on August 8 and Zac Brown Band on August 9. With The Maven located right next door, there is truly no better place to stay after a night of singing along with these sought-after headliners.

New Restaurant Openings:

While the Mile High City may be known for its gorgeous weather, proximity to the mountains, and growing music scene, one thing that is hardly highlighted enough is the expansive culinary culture. From James Beard award-winning restaurants to eclectic food halls that offer a plethora of options, Denver's dining options are anything but average.

New to the neighborhood is the intimate and experiential restaurant — Beckon. Before guests can enjoy the multi-course tasting menu, they must purchase a pre-paid ticket to the 18-seat chef's counter. While Beckon's menu may change with the season, the quality and creativity behind each dish never waivers.

In addition to Beckon's innovative dining experience, Run For The Roses is also making waves with their new underground location right here at Dairy Block. Paying homage to the elegant cocktail clubs from the Prohibition Era, Run For The Roses is serving up classic cocktails in a cozy speakeasy setting. Stop by Thursday - Sunday from 5:00pm - 2:00am to try out their crafted cocktails and rare collection of vintage spirits.

Sports and Stuff:

It seems fitting that as the city continues to heat up, the local sports teams do as well. The Colorado Rockies kicked off their season in April and have continued to win games and move up the standings. Walk across the street to Coors Field and catch The Rockies in action during your next stay at The Maven! Not to mention, the Colorado Rapids will be hosting the European powerhouse team, Arsenal, in a friendly match at DICK's Sporting Goods Park on July 15.

Even if sports aren't your thing, there are plenty of ways to get active and enjoy Denver by bike or foot. Explore this map of the best low-stress bike routes in the Mile High City!
